This achievement requires Strike at the Heart or Strike at the Heart, which is the final stage of druids / warden's daily questline.
You have to complete Calling the Ancients to unlock it.

※ If you failed, just wait a few minutes for respawn.

◆ Cinderweb Queen：

Cinder Web - Run away while he casting. You will be rooted if you hit by the web
Writhing Injection - Spawn few spiders after few seconds, cannot avoid. Just aoe them down.

◆ Ancient Smoldering Behemoth：

Groundfire - Run away from the boss.
Rain of Flame - Interrupt or just run away asap. The active radius is quite huge.

◆ Ancient Firelord：

Flame Spout -Put a fire pool looks like Magmaw's Pillar of Flame under your foot and will burst after few seconds.- Run away asap.
Fire Torrent - A fire breath works like Mimiron's P3Wx2 Laser Barrage.Tthere will be a red mark on the ground Fire Torrent that shows where the breath begin.

◆ Devout Harbinger：The hardest one to get credit.

Creeping Inferno spawn a fire pursue you on the ground. You will get debuff Creeping Inferno if the fire reach you, and the achievement failed.

◆ Ancient Charscale：

Javelin Breach - Throw a javelin to a target. Few seconds later lots of lava balls erupted from the javelin's placement and you can see their shadows on the ground. Just run away form there.
Line of Fire - It works like Zanzil's Zanzili Fire. Notice that he will cast it continuously about 5 times, start moving while he is facing you!

So apparently not only do you not have to cause damage if in the same group but you don't even have to be CLOSE to get credit. I've been doing all my molten front stuff on pairs of toons and to make sure I didn't get hit screwing about dual boxing I left one toon waaaaay back at the quest giver and went to get credit for the quest and ach. Ran back to switch toons and repeat yet she already had credit for both the quest AND the ach just by being in the group of someone that did it even over that distance.

Does not give credit if your pet takes a hit from one of the specials. Killed Firelord three times today before dismissing pet and getting credit.

Evidently, being ready for raiding in this tier means standing 100 yards away and being in the group while contributing nothing and still getting credit for the kills.

I've done the Charscale and Behemoth so far, the Charscale drops little portals so melee can port out of the aoe in time, the Behemoth has those little updraft things that you jump in like in the Druids of the Talon quests in the caves. They're fairly awkward to use - I did the Charscale 3 times and got credit before I even realised what they were for and on the Behemoth the first one appears too late to save you from groundfire. A little tip, take the updraft as soon as it appears because if he casts groundfire and you wait for his cast bar you're often too late.

The worst thing about Behemoth is his ridiculously tiny hitbox. Every mechanic with these bosses I've encountered so far is trivial if you're a ranged class -_-

I just did the quest with Ancient Smoldering Behemoth, and he takes stun. Problaby the others take stun too :)

After some tests, I think bliz force players to contribute to get this ach. (hot fix'ed?).

Tests, all tests have 0 damage taken.
1. hit the boss once, run around boss: fail.
2. NO hit the boss(but stays in combat), mount around the boss : fail.
3. NO hit the boss, mout far away from boss, out of combat, wait npcs to kill the boss : fail.
4. mout far away from boss, only hit boss for last 1% : fail.

5. hit boss hard, over 50% (817k out of 1549k): success.

*The fight of Devout Harbinger sux to the bone for melee orz.

For the ach, you (and other players, not sure alliance and horde) must contribute > 50% (totally?), and dodge the fire skill.

Same rule apples to Infernal Ambassadors too.
But this one you can kill the (small?) boss before the spell is finished, which will cause NOT get the credit.

You need to let the boss finish casting/channelling the spell, and then, contribute enough in the fight, and finally, kill the boss.

very hard achiefment lucky figured out the creep cast can be stopped by Hammer of Justice (maby more)
just burst and stun first cast should get you a long way

so far the devout harbinger's creeping inferno seems to be bugged, when she casts it i get the debuff along with a fire nova and even after avoiding all the fires on the ground i still cant get credit for the achiev.ticket open, waiting for blizz to answer it.
ok,after awhile i got the credit, got like 4 or 5 stuns and only one cast went out. just kill her very quick after that and hit hard pop dmg cds and u will get the credit

Just wanted to add my $.02 to this.. I received credit for Ancient Charscale after someone started the event. I have not completed Additional Armaments, Calling the Ancient, or Filling the Moonwell. I also had Res Sickness. Woot woot ready for raiding... again!

Another note: Ancient Charscale's "Line of Fire" can go through the environment(small undulations in the ground) and can be difficult to see. BUT IT STILL GIVES YOU THE DEBUFF AND WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO GET THE ACHIEVEMENT. Learned that one the hard way. Hope this helps!

I joined a party (just one more guy) when the Devout Harbringer was at 10% HP, had two Kill Shots and I got the achievement, without even having the quest in my log.

Strange that none have asked this yet, but have anyone figured out if the Lieutenants change upon the 04:00 AM (in EU) daily reset, or if there is other ways to make the mob to kill change. (I'm on my first day so can't figure it out yet)

I know that the bombing daily elemental mob to kill changed every day with the daily reset (04:00 AM), so just wonder if its the same case with these mobs.

You can cheese the Devout harbinger by getting her to like 5-10% hp, run away nutil you are out of combat and go back killing off her berofe she can cast creeping inferno (since its random if you get the initial debuff or not)

I would sometimes get the dbuff even with catform Dash activated, so just running isnt the solution to that mob, despite what people say. It sometimes give you the debuff anyways.

Easily solo'd the devout harbinger part as ret, should be doable for pretty much everyone else, too.

1 - start the event by talking to the ancient
2 - tap the harbinger when attackable
3 - instantly go out of range (in between the charhounds on the right side f.e.)
4 - wait for first Creeping Inferno (you should be away far enough to not get hit at all)
5 - move back into range, cast/attack
6 - instantly go out of range again - using the haste/jump whirls to get out of range faster may allow you to cast/attack more often
7 - wait for next Creeping Inferno

repeat steps 5-7 till harbinger dies.

Okay, seeing as Creeping Inferno is bugged right now, here are two ways to get the achievement:

1. Have lots of rogues/warriors stun every single cast
2. Attack her at least once then be out of range for every single cast, which is about halfway down the ramp, then just come up and kill her when she's low. The range is at least 60 yards, so go out far enough that you can still target to see health, but further than 60yd.

I put in a ticket about it, hopefully blizz will fix it.

EDIT: GM said that he would forward my report to the devs and investigate further.

I've found a much easier way to get the Devout Harbringer requirement. You will need a class that can leave combat though (I am a mage). For all classes who can't, running out (as stated above) is a viable option as well.

1. DPS her to 75k (or whatever number you are comfortable with).
2. Wait for a Creeping Inferno to be cast.
3. Use Invisibility (vanish, feign death etc. will also work I think, as long as you really leave combat).

All fires should have disappeared by now. If you finish the Harbringer before she casts another Creeping Inferno, you will have fulfilled the requirement.

The way I managed to get credit for devout harbinger was to moonfire her, run down the hill roughly 100 yards away from her area and let my group do the killing.

Didn't start the event, didn't tag her. Did this with a group of alliance trying to do it as well.
I actually HAD the Creeping Inferno debuff and still got credit (it hit me long before she died).

A note for hunters, be sure to dismiss your pet, if it get hit it counts as you getting hit so after 4 tries i finally did it, parr to blizzard on this one, you clearly out did yourselves again.

As of today (July 25), you can... wiggle your way to this achievement. It turns out that dying resets your success/fail tag. So if you start the fight with the current lieutenant, take damage and fail, then die, come back before the guy dies and then not take damage, you'll still get credit for the achievement. So I suppose you could try not to take any damage, but if you do get hit, you can choose to die when the miniboss is at about 20% or so, then run back and finish the fight while being extra careful.

Got the achivment today, the hardest to learn and execute for me as a melee was probably the Ancient Smoldering Behemoth(3 tries), the Devout Harbinger(2 tries) was just annoying since you could not dps much the rest was so easy got all on first try

I found a way to earn Devout Harbinger's piece of this achievement. Even when I didn't take damage, I still didn't get credit when I got the temporary debuff. The way I found to do this was get the quest with a party member who doesn't care about the ach. Start the fight so you tag it first. Then abandon the quest, and run all the way back to the quest-giver and get it new. When your party member kills her, you get credit for the kill and the ach, and you're too far away to get even the debuff...

Since the daily zone is full of people doing these, tag the mob, go away into lower end of the ramp and wait for the mob to go to 15%, then go burn him down, and if lucky enough you will get the credit for the achievement for no effort, until Blizzard decides to fix it.

Some notes on this:

Someone in your party must do some damage/be on the threat table to get completion for a stage of the achievement.
If the miniboss does -not- use an ability (or try to use) that you need to avoid, you will not get credit. I suspect this is why some people think that someone else getting hit will mean you don't get credit. Be careful, and if you haven't seen everything go, back off DPS. You may have to wait for other people to leave to accomplish this. You do NOT need to tag the mob or talk to Witherbark at all, despite posts to the contrary, but if it dies too fast, you will not get credit.

Having been in a party where some people get hit and don't get credit and other people don't and do, I know you can get credit if someone else gets hit.

Despite posts to the contrary, you do not need to do any amount of damage; you can stand out and come in for the last 50k and get credit, but you must hit the miniboss a few seconds before it dies to have time for the table to update.

You do not need to be REMOTELY close to get credit, or on the quest, if someone in your party is on the threat table; a guildie who was on the bombing run and way off over thataway got credit when two of us did this.

Some notes on individual ones:

Harbinger - stuns will interrupt the cast. If you don't feel like trying again and again until you don't wind up with the debuff despite standing in nothing, either get some help to stunlock her (note that diminishing returns will mess you up eventually so bring a lot of DPS) or stand way back and only come in the last minute. The NPCs can kill her without your help, so stand way back, running further away when she jumps to the top of the ramp, and come in sometime ~70k or so, right after she uses her special ability. Harbinger is easily the hardest one to actually dodge since it seems that you can get the debuff applied (and lose credit) without standing in anything or having any damage in your combat log. I suggest cheesing it and letting the NPCs do the work if you don't have help to burn her fast.

Firelord - this one is probably the easiest. Nothing much to say here except dodge it. The NPCs can take him out without your help, so if you're having troubles, stand back and come in the last little bit. If you're a shaman, note that he may target your totems for the flame spout, so place them out of the way and you may not have to move at all.

Charscale - may kill Witherbark. Easy enough to dodge, but try to be careful NOT to get the fire lines under Witherbark or he's more like die before you kill it if you're alone. Note that the fire lines go off 5 times in close succession, so don't move too far from the last one to keep all the fire in one place - move a few degrees, and wait for the next cast, move a few degrees. You may want to heal Witherbark if you can.

Behemoth - may kill Witherbark. This one can be a pain to dodge in melee, but you can do it - just start running instantly and keep running. The rain of flame is pretty easy to dodge; it's the ground flames melee will suffer on. (Ranged just stay at max range and avoid rain of flame.) The radius of effect for ground flames may increase (based on one experience my paladin had - did not take damage with one visual flare, did take damage the next one) between ticks, and it's quite large, so if you can stay at range, do.

Cinderweb Queen - I haven't fought this one yet, so nothing to say.

Well I don't get it. I was able to get credit for the Ancient Charscale part of the achievement without even having the quest two days ago and now today without the quest again I can't get credit for Ancient Firelord. I'm 100% positive I haven't been hit with either of it's two abilities. I tried this five times. I first thought maybe he had to FULLY cast both of his abilities then die so I let him do that and it still didn't give me credit. I then thought maybe I wasn't doing enough damage to it, but then I realized that was wrong when I outdamaged the guy who started the quest to begin with.

So I'm wondering if it was hotfixed with today's many hotfixes or what. =\

how i did it(nelf shadow priest) was to get tag first and then shadowmeld, so then i ran away and she didnt target me with inferno and i waited for npc and other people to finish her off i also sent a ticket to confirm if its bugged will update with that

Funny thing happened to me the other day on Ancient Firelord - I wasn't entirely sure what to do as it was first time and hadn't read up on any of them. I got him down to 20% health then I died. Ran back, rezzed, he was at like 10%, hit him a couple times before any new attacks came, he died, I got credit towards achievement.

It's crazy that people are getting different results..

For me, with the Harbinger.. I kept getting hit by the initial fire nova thing when she casts Creeping, however, I got credit for the achievement since I never got hit by the actual dot. I didn't have to do anything crazy for this achievement. So yeah.. don't be disheartened if you are getting hit by the initial part of the spell despite running around.. you should still get credit.
^This was for my Feral druid main. I was able to put up dots and just run around, put up dots, run around, etc.

I had more issues with my Fury Warrior because the warrior has more ramp up time.. need to get rage and then be able to attack. By the time you get a couple special attacks in, she was casting again. So I decided to go prot instead because I felt it was more useful. I was able to chain-stun her and keep her stunned most of the time (Charge, Shockwave, Intercept, Concussive Blow) while my ele shaman bf popped Hero and nuked her down. She was only able to get one off, so that worked out really well.

I can confirm that you need to tag them first. I sat there and killed 5 or so Cinderweb Queens, before I was even able to talk to witherbark and tag my own. Once I tagged, I just put Aspect of the Fox on and DPSed till she died.

Criteria to get credit for any of the mobs as of right now:

- Tag the mob first (I just spammed taunt on it as it walked out since 5 other people were waiting)
- Be in combat with it when it dies

Not necessary:

- Being on the quest
- Talking to Witherbark first
- Even having the ancients unlocked at all (though someone with them unlocked will need to start the event)

I am currently waiting on an Ancient Smoldering Behemoth and a Devout Harbinger to actually be present for this achievement to complete. Neither have been on my server yet. Its the last achievement I need for the title, having got the mount and everything else 2 days ago =/

So, after (if I'm not wrong) 15 days of killing Lieutenants, the numbers are: 1 Cinderweb Queen, 1 Ancient Charscale and 13 Ancient Firelord (and the Queen and the Charscale appeared when I didn't have the quest yet, not knowing I could get the credit for them without the quest). I believe it's the 8-9 time the Ancient Firelord appears again...

I'm starting to think there's some kind of bug involved in Lieutenants rotation or something...

(Oh, and the server hasn't showed yet Flashfire at any time for the bombing...).

I just tried this today on my mage ( she havent unlock the ancients yet ) ran there and wait for someone to start the quest let them tag avoid the fires while dpsing normaly without burst, at 20-30% health left burst it and try to get a killing blow, so you can actually get this achievment done without a daily, all you need to do is avoid the fire and get a killing blow on 5 different mobs and also someone to start it, since you cant :P

Just got credit for the Devour Harbinger portion in a very interesting manner.

I tagged the mob, proceeded to run out of range, but didn't get out quite far enough. I got hit by the initial explosion and got the creeping inferno debuff again. Frustrated, i ditched the quest (didn't realize this wasn't necessary) with the harbinger still around 80% hp. I ran back to Malfurion's Breach, picked up the quest again, and headed back to the harbinger to find it still alive at 5%. It died about the time i hit the top of the ramp and i got credit for the quest and the achievement without even attacking it again.

I believe Ancient Charscale needs to finish casting all the five Line of Fire to get credit for it.

I killed it once, but I got hit by the javelin (inconveniences of whispering while doing it :/) so I didn't get credit.
Then I tried again, and a paladin showed up, so I stopped my DPS to allow the mob cast Line of Fire at least once, and he did it twice, but I didn't get credit for it either. No damage taken, I was not even close to any skill.
Afterwards, a pair of players started killing it and we just burned it out before even starting to cast Line of Fire, so no credit again.
Finally, when all players went away, I tried again allowing him to cast all the five Line of Fire, I finished him, and I got credit for it at last.

Devout Harbinger - I tried a couple of times without taking any damage from creeping inferno but would still fail to get the credit. On my successful attempt I did actually get hit by the fire, but in frustration left the arena so I could drop out of combat (hoping it might reset). I ran back in to see Witherbranch still wailing on the Harbinger. I went in for the kill and bizarrely enough got the credit.

To break up all the confusion:

You DO have to:
Tag the mob
Not get hit by any of the special abilities
NOT interrupt any abilities via stuns or disorients.

You DO NOT have to:
Be in a group
Have the quest
Have the quest incomplete
Do a lot of damage, or do the most damage
Be the one to summon it (talking to the ancient)

Other things:
Pets getting hit DO count, so dismiss your pet(s).
Other players getting hit DO NOT count toward YOUR credit.

This may help anyone on Devout Harbringer.

When the mob is casting Creeping Inferno stay still until its cast then as soon as it finishes move. The spell seems to follow you otherwise.

For you to get credit for each step of the achievement, the boss in question has to target you at least once with the special move. I did it with another person, and he got targeted both times, yet I did not. He got credit, I did not. I did it alone, got targeted, did not get hit, and I then received my credit.

For the Devout Harbinger, I highly suggest turning on Projected Textures and turning your Particle Density up so that the fires are easy to see, if they aren't already set that way.
With low video settings, the fires may seem transparent making this achievement harder than it really should be.

In addition to this, any movement speed increases can also help on this fight, especially for melee (Swiftness potions, sprint, dash, etc). Sometimes you may get the debuff and fail the achievement even though you may seem a few yards away from it due to latency.
Don't forget about these, too!

Having just completed this achievement on both my elem shaman and fury warrior, I can't help but think that this prepares you for raiding by showing how much harder it is to successfully raid as melee dps instead of ranged dps.

Doing Ancient Smoldering Behemot as a Pala tank can be tricky, especially the first Groundfire when no Convalescence of Winds is available. Bubble yourself trough the first cast, the rest you can avoid by using the winds to jump out of melee range.

I finished this achievement today, the hardest NPC to handle for me was the Cinderweb Queen... From a Hunter's view point anyway.

If you're getting caught up on a boss, be sure to check out the NPC specifics on this website, there is sometimes more detail and incite on how to combat the particular NPC.

for those of you still working on this acquirement, just keep in mind that you don't need to drop the quest and run back and start over, you can just wait and talk to the Trent when you are ready to try again.

hey folks, i am a frost DK with no , and i just got the Devout Harbinger credit in a pretty much normal way.
i have tried several times and finally can confirm that this achievement is not bugged.

the spell Creeping Inferno contains two effects:
1. fires will be summoned on the ground and start to chase you, you stand on it, you got damage, and you failed the credit.
2. a "red ball" will be "throw to you", once you get hit, you got a debuff(which does no damage), and you failed the credit.

just keep moving and you will be save from the chasing fire. and i think most people failed in the second part.
and for this one, you should JUMP at the moment the "red ball" land to you, just like avoiding Static Cling and Quake.

the Devout Harbinger's cast routine is like: Incinerate 2 to 3 times than one Creeping Inferno. so all you have to do is to run from the fire, jump the red ball, and DPS as hard as you can in the rest of the time, and by then, i think you are really Ready for Raiding II

Can do this achv without the quest (especially if you are keeping the bombing one open) as long you have unlocked upto it ofc.

Just wait around until someone on the quest starts the event and make sure you tag the mob. You can even sit back and let your "friend(s)" handle the mob (doesn't matter if he or she gets hit) and keep yourself safe from special effects (not that many will be aimed at you)

I found that as a hunter doing Devout Harbinger I could use Feign Death to escape the Creeping infurno!
But it does work best when you are alone so no other creeping inferno can hit you as well!

-You can bug each of the encounters as mage, hunter or rogue. If you vanish/fd/invis out of the fight the achievement criteria will reset, easy to just vanish out at like 10% if you fail and then just go back and execute the mob with few attacks. (Works with Shadowmeld too)

-If you fail the criteria of this achievement but the mob dies, you can just talk to the tree guy again and start over (doesn't require you to be on the quest while completing the achievement.

This achievement for me should be renamed BLIZZARD HATES MELEE.

Only one-the Cinderweb Queen-has mechanics that don't punish you for being a melee DPS. Every other one, especially the Smoldering Behemoth with its goblin sized hit box and an AOE that covers more distance than most people can cross easily in time, force a melee DPS to run in circles, in my DKs case spamming Icy Touch and Howling Blast, and hoping that either someone else provides enough damage or you get lucky enough for the Ancient to survive long enough to win out. As an earlier poster said, this achievement shows that Blizzard has an odd idea of what being ready for raiding means. Once I get this achievement-the Harbinger is all I need-I may never do this daily again, lol.

Did Devout today. Attacked him, stuned and interupted his casts, when he starts do use special ability ran far way and continue to running in circles. Charged to him when fire was away or gone to speed things up. Repeated around 10 times until he died. No buggs. Did it from third time, first two I got hit, was too close to Devout, keep your distance during fire.

can someone please explain the mob spawn times. like it was 2 pm server time and a devout harbring was up, and i was happy cause thats the only one i need for the ach. so i was gonna wait till later to do my daillies cause i had other stuff to do. then when i came back at like 10 server to molten front to do my daillies, a !@#$ing firelord was there now. i dont understand, do they change during the day like wtf.

If you're a mage, then lucky you .. I was having a problem running from Devout Harbinger's Creeping Inferno, first I tagged her .. then I kept dpsing - though I got hit by Creeping Inferno - and when Harbinger's hp reaches 6% cast Invisibility - unless you got the talent Prismatic Cloak then you should cast it at like 3% hp - you will be out of combat, just break your invisibility and finish her and there you go, you get the credit
She often won't cast Creeping Inferno at low hp so no need to fear from getting hit after casting Invisibility

Flame Spout -Put a fire pool looks like Magmaw's Pillar of Flame under your foot and will burst after few seconds.- Run away asap.
Fire Torrent - A fire breath works like Mimiron's P3Wx2 Laser Barrage.Tthere will be a red mark on the ground Fire Torrent that shows where the breath begin.

Worth mentioning, and haven't seen it anywhere with the Ancient Firelord attempt, he spawns 2 Shadow Gates (looks like the dark portals from Lord Jaraxxus (Nether Portals) on left and right side of him) (sorry cannot find a link to these shadow portals), you should use them as they also give you a shadow gate buff which greatly increases your run speed and damage on the elemental. This buff will also give you shadowform, and a debuff called temporal displacement.

I have a question: Are some of these mobs rare? Does only one spawn per day? I've been doing the dailies for about two months now, and since I've unlocked the Ancients, I have only gotten two of these mobs to spawn.

This method isn't the most satisfying, but it definitely gets the job done.
For Devout Harbinger no matter how much you jump, run or go in circles to avoid that Creeping Flame, you somehow ALWAYS end up getting the debuff at least once for a split second, or getting in range of the graphic to take damage from it from others flames or even your own. So what do you do?

Well, today my friend was killing the elemental and I was in the molten front dailies questing area, the first series of quests and I got my title. We swapped places and and we both got our achievs doing this.

So what exactly do you do?
Make a party with your friends. One person go to the Devout Harbinger and kill it and try to avoid the damage as much as possible, everyone else stay in group and just hang out at the are where druids of the flame/vanquishers/elementals etc... are moving around and you will get your credit. Then have one of your friends switch with the person who was up at the Harbinger and they will then get their achiev too.

This achievement is fairly easy. However, like many have said, the sulfuron harbinger is a complete $%^&*. However today I reallized what the swirly wind things do. They were my complete salvation in the smoldering behemoth one. A warning to dks: Even if you are spec'd so it absorbs 100% of the damage, you still lose credit for the achieve, even though you didn't technically take any damage. I suppose the wind thing is the key for the sulfuron harbinger fight as well, like someone earliler said. When she starts casting, I suppose your supposed to jump into the wind so you dont take the first tick, then just keep running.

For the devout harbinger or probably any of the others (which are easier) you can allow yourself to get hit by any of his attacks then when he hits about 20% drop all aggro by either going shadowmeld, invisible or running out of combat. When he is at about 5 or 10% run back in and down him. You will only have to avoid his special attacks during this phase.

The mob that spawns for this quest each day is entirely random. It will be the same mob for everyone who enters the zone regardless of what dailies they have unlocked, what faction (druids or wardens) they did dailies for, or anything else.

There is no predictable pattern for which mob will spawn each day. You could get Devout Harbinger 20 times in a row, or not see it for a month.

To get Devout Harbinger credit as a hunter is really easy. Just burn the npc down to about 250K and then feign death... re-enter combat and kill him and you will get credit even if you stood in fire before feigning death. Night elves can also use Shadowmeld or any other ability that will take you out of combat.

A tip on doing this is keep Strike at the Heart in your quest log and each day go over to the quest spot and if its the Lieutenant you need talk to Witherbranch and start the fight. Saves you alot of time.

Took an hour or so to get the harbinger part of the achievement. As a hunter I only ran straight in a direction and with luck the creeping inferno fireball didn't put the debuff on me. It took me many tries but ultimately got credit. I was playing with an average 400ms lag. Special thanks to the horde player, Tensei from Ragnaros US who helped me down the harbinger faster (more dps, faster kill, less creeping infernos).

Also, I already finished the Molten Front quests, is there any way to get these mobs so I can get the achievement without doing all the days quests? I think I saw someone say you don't need to be on the quest, can anyone confirm this?

To me it looks like one of the worst achievements ever made by Blizzard. The Devout Harbinger and Ancient Charscale fights are so unfair for melee classes to kill without getting hit by the special abilities. The only way to do them is to tag them while othe ppl kill them. Bad design of the fights, that's for sure. Keep it up Blizzard!

Can anyone confirm that the lieutenant of flame is random per spawn or per day? Getting the Charscale and Harbinger are the last two I need for the meta and I'm fine with camping the area for the evening if I can have a chance of getting those two, but the Firelord is up at the moment and if it's a daily thing then I don't want to waste my time.

I've been waiting for like 2 week's for the Devout Harbringer to spawn and still nothing. I wonder if there is any special time of the day he spawns or it's just really bad luck.

I got credit for the Ancient Firelord yesterday... by dying!

Seems the mob's HP is not reset if you die so when I rezzed and got back he had the same low HP I left him with which meant when I did kill him without taking damage he was added to the achievement.

A more damaging version of the "run away till out of aggro range" method but it works!

Did anyone keep track of how long it took for all five to spawn for them? I've been doing this for a month and it rotates between the Ancient Firelord and the Devout Harbringer. So tired of waiting for the other three. It is a relief to know I do not have to have the quest to get this achievement. I do not want to do Molten Front dailies ANYMORE! :0-)

I can honestly say that I have been running the full dailies for over two months and for some reason either I am incredibly unlucky or my server is bugged somehow. I have only 2 of the 5 in the achievement. I probably complete the dailies 95% of the time, so to say I shouldn't have seen at least one of the three missing is not asking too much. I'm not trying to be a baby about it, but it just appears to me as there may be something wrong. I can see them being random, but there should have also been something built in to prevent one or two of the bosses to spawn consistently like they do on Draenor-US. I don't mind achievements being difficult, but when you don't even have a chance to try for it then that seems a bit unfair.

If you fail, get hit from one of their special attacks. This is what I did, on purpose I stod in their attacks which killed me. Because that "resets" your previous failures but you will still be in the fight.

Do this when the boss maybe have 200k hp left. Then you can fast run there and ress and just nuke the 200k left of the mob and it will count on the achievement even tho you faild in the previous "life". Good luck! :)

Today i got in a grp whit a random druid. we where facing devout harbinger and we both failed.
So we tried to reset it "i had my pet disband" i was running away and then i FD then i run back up and i see that i got the quest complete it got killed by some hordes. but i also got the acivh for Devout and the druid dindt.

So mabye if u FD after u get hit and then kill it after whitout getting hit again u can get it.

As of today, seems you only get credit toward achievement if you have the mob tagged, you cant just run in at the last 10% and throw some dots up, unless you have it tagged.

I am not entirely sure whether completing the quest means that the Ancient no longer spawns the elite for you so not wanting to take that risk and then having to redo all the dailies again I devised the following scheme.

Obviously I am only interested in the achieve if you want to continue with the dailies this does not apply.

So my scheme is:

Go check what the elite of the day is with with the uncompleted Strike at the Heart quest in your quest log.

If it is the one that you need invite a friend/minion into group and convert to raid.

Kill the elite and you will get the credit for the achievement, while still having the quest uncompleted in your quest log so you can return the next day and repeat this all over again.

Worked well so far, only 2 more elites to go.

I was doing Devout Harbinger today a number of times to get my credit, and found it rather tricky - no matter how fast or in which direction you run, you still get the Creeping Inferno debuff.

I was confused by the top rated post here saying that

You will get debuff, and the achievement failed.

That proved to be wrong.

I found this to be the most effective solo way to do this part (since most players already completed these dailies, one must pester his/her friends or whine in /general for help or wait a long time for someone to come and let achiever ride his back).

Start the event. Mount up. Watch Witherbark fighting the Harbinger, When she casts Creeping Inferno, wait for the explosion effect to land on you (you'll get the "inferno spawn" short-timed debuff) then ride your mount to the other side of that "room". Repeat. When Harbinger reaches 100k or something, wait for the next Inferno, dismount and take her down.

Note that you WILL GET THE DEBUFF at some point(s) of this, and you may even fall out of combat a few times, but still you get the credit unless you actually take damage from inferno. However you get the debuff for a short time, it fades before its first tick, so the only danger is you running into one of ground flames, and that would be a pretty clumsy thing to do while mounted.

To be able to do this you have to either be in group with someone who has Strike at the Heart or have it in your log. You can do the entire quest chain and then keep the undelivered Strike at the Heart in your log, it will not reset the next day.

For the Devout Harbinger all I had to do was start the quest, let the npc engage, burn her down to 50%, run down the ramp and stay down there until I was out of combat, then mount up, and run around up by her until she is fairly low, then kill her. The npc keeps fighting even if you are out of range and if you are mounted you go fast enough to not be effected by the initial creeping inferno hit. Just make sure you wait til she casts creeping inferno and jumps before you dismount to finish her off so she doesn't get to cast one when you aren't mounted.

If you only need a specific boss for the achievement, you can ride all the way up to where they spawn, before doing any dailies, to check if it's worth doing the mandatory 15 quests.

Note that you can run and check if todays elite is someone you wan't for achievement. You can't attack or kill him without the quest, but it can be nice to know before getting to the end of the line!

There is a funny little trick that works with each boss required for this achieve. Begin the fight, pound the boss down to 10-20%, go ahead and get hit by the special attacks (doesn't matter). Once the boss is down to a manageable health, run down the ramp and exit combat. Then run back up and finish them off. As long as you don't get hit by a special attack while you finish them off, you will get credit toward the achieve. Works every time.

Just tried Harbringer, which is the only one I need now for the Achievement. I tagged her but got hit by the Creeping Inferno so ran down the ramp until I was no longer in combat. Went back into the fight, didnt get hit by the Creeping Inferno, just ran away from the fire but didnt get credit. Boo.

For players, such as myself, who finished the entire quest-line, completed quite a few achievements, left, but then came back a while after to finish up the rest of the achievements and found themselves wondering which and how many of the available quests they needed to complete to reach certain achievement related dailies.

Behold- the bare minimum!
You must complete these everyday (In order to reach the quests for: Ready for Raiding II
Rayne Feathersong: (Aggressive Growth/Wisp Away)
Captain Irontree: Burn Victims
General Taldris Moonfall: Hostile Elements and (Breach in the Defenses/The Dogs of War/The Harder They Fall/Traitors Return)

You must then choose one of the two quests offered by General Taldris.
You can do either, it's simply prefrence as they both lead to the necessary quest for: Ready for Raiding II)
The Forlorn Spire or Into the Fire

If you choose: The Forlorn Spire.
You can ignore all the quests, to proceed (other then: The Wardens are Watching which will continue the chain.)
1. The Wardens are Watching
2. Enduring the Heat
3. Strike at the Heart (i.e. Our Quest for Ready for Raiding II)
Important: If You don't get credit for the kill in the achievement tracker then abandon the quest and re-grab it!
Note: This Quest is Indeed a Daily (Even though Wowhead displays this version (offered by Shalis Darkhunter) as being a non-repeatable Quest.)

If you choose: Into the Fire.
You can ignore any of the quests in the immediate area other then Thisalee Crow's Quests to proceed.
1. Both of Thisalee Crow's Quests

Flamewakers of the Molten Flow
Fire Flowers- Note: You do not turn this quest into her; the quest ends back on the surface, so you must take the tunnel back up to turn in this quest. When you turn this in, there will now be offered more quests.

You can ignore any of the quests in the immediate area other then Morthis Whisperwing's Quest.
3. Morthis Whisperwing's Quest- Note: You can turn this quest into him or into Skylord Omnuron, whom you need to travel to next to obtain the next quest.
4. Strike at the Heart (i.e. Our Quest for Ready for Raiding II)
Important: If You don't get credit for the kill in the achievement tracker then abandon the quest and re-grab it!

The Into the Fire version is far more tedious and time consuming in my own personal opinion.
Choosing Into the Fire also has a chance to backfire as completing this method two days in a row will result in Morthis Whisperwing's Quest being Fire in the Skies which will not allow you to obtain Strike at the Heart for that day.

Okey I tried this out on my rogue now!
I got hit by one of Devout Harbringers spells so I decided to Vanish, abandom the quest run down and take it again and try to kill her and see if I got the credit for it.

I worked without any problem.

So day 2 so was it Ancient Firelord. I did the same there full nuked him to about 500k. Vanish > Abandom the quest > took it again and ran up and killed him! And got credit again.

I know its easier way to get the credit but if u fail sometime its a goodway to do it instead of have to wait 5 mins for respawn!

As a hunter, I just sent pet, tagged the guy once, and ran back--stayed down on the ramp (outside the entire engagement area). I remained well out of range of all the attacks and easily got credit.

I really had problems with devout harbinger. There are people that already give a solution to this problem but I want to add something because I felt my nerves brake down because of this.

When she does the special attack she makes something like a flaming circle below your feet and then she throws to you something like a ball of burning lava. If this ball touches you, you get a debuff and even if you kill her without getting any damage you wont take the achievment. I conformed this today. When see casts the special attack either stun her, or run fast to avoid the debuff.

ok so i did the ancient charscale and ancient smoldering behemoth with ease, then i came to the devout harbring and it was torture as a mage. after several trys and abandoning the quest 5 times atleast i figured out that all i had to do was run away when she was using her special skill and it wouldnt target me then i run back and dps her and repeat till shes dead and thats what finally worked. good luck

I got this on the first (i guess technically 2nd) try: heres how:

I did the spire daily questline, so the quest "strike at the heart" is picked up right outside the cave where you do the blue circle dance.

I started the fight with the devout harbinger, got him down to about 30% health (after being hit with the debuff), abandoned the quest, ran back to the cave, restarted the quest, ran back up the hill where the harbinger is, and the tree was still fighting him and had him down to 10% health. One interrupt and some pew pew later, achievement done.

I'm don't always exploit loopholes, but when i do, i post about it here.

If you are having trouble completing the achievement for this quest called Ready for Raiding II, do this:
1. start the quest like you always do
2. if you get hit by a special attack from the boss leave the area and abandon the quest
3. run back to quest giver and take the quest again
4. go back to the thing you are supposed to kill (it should still be there getting tanked by the tree thing)
5. wait until its about to die (may take a couple of minutes)
6. when the thing is at a low health %, burn it down and you'll get the credit for that part of the achievement

(if the thing is not there when you return, you either left it with too low health and the NPCs killed it or blizz has fixed the bug)

FYI, you don't have to drop the quest and pick it back up again. I forgot to turn the quest in the other day and decided to keep it in my log and not turn it in to test out my theory. Even though the quest was "completed" I was able to still get the credit while fighting the Ancient Smoldering Behemoth. I intend to not turn it in until I complete this achieve.

This is a good strategy if you've already gotten everything you wanted from the Molten Front quests and don't want to have to keep doing them all just for this one quest. You can save you daily allowance to do other dailies if you want, or save the time not wasted to do something else.

A little update:
With the Cross Realm Zones, you can ask to group with your real id friends and phase to their realms (you phase to the group leader's realm).

Each Cross Realm Zone has a daily spawn.

It's not bugged if you keep seeing the ancient firelord day after day, it's just the most common to spawn. I was wondering the same thing after seeing it numerous days in a row, when all I needed was the ancient charscale, but I checked today and the charscale had finally spawned. You just need to come back and check every day :/

And if you were like me and this was the last thing you needed from the Molten Front, you CAN just run in without picking up the quests to see which lieutenant is there. So you don't have to waste your time doing the daily quest chain and getting angry at the end when the one you need isn't there.

If you are going for the achievement only, do this: Go through the daily quests one day to get to the final quest which is Strike at the Heart but do not turn it in. Getting through the preliminary quests is time consuming and you only have to do it once. At the time of this post you do have to be on the quest and activate the tree to engage any of the bosses. The bosses change every day. So after getting to Strike at the heart do not turn it in. Come back every day and a different boss will be up for you to kill and you just simply activate Witherbranch (the big tree) without going through the long quest line.

Devout Harbinger - I just fought it twice. The first time, I didn't get hit by the creeping flame at all. The second time, I hopped right into the flame intentionally, so I could see what the debuff looked like, so when I tried a third time, I would know what to look out for to see if I failed. After standing in the fire for about five seconds, I went and killed the harbinger, and got credit.

Now, for anyone attempting to do this the quick way by hopping to a friend's server or - although not encouraged - realm hop through LFG, there is a catch to the method.

I found that whenever the Ancient Firelord was the daily boss, no other variation was available on other realms. For two consecutive days he spawned, and despite me jumping to several dozen servers, he wouldn't disappear. However, when a less common spawn (one of the other four) was up, I was able to get each of the remainders in a matter of minutes.

Therefore, it seemed to me at least like the only way you could get different spawns through realm hopping was if a boss other than Ancient Firelord was present.

You may have different experiences than I, but I found this to be the only way to utilize realm phasing.

If all you need is a specific lieutenant, you can enter Molten Front, head straight to where the lieutenant spawns, & see which one is there before doing any dailies. (Can't attack until you have quest.)
If it's one you already have, you can skip the dailies, unless you just want more Marks of the World Tree.

realm hopping doesn't work so don't bother, however holding onto the quest Strike at the Heart does.
I tend to get the same boss every day unfortunately so patience is a must.
(I have managed to do this achievement fairly quickly not long after posting this comment so persevere!)

A little summary from me for Shadowlands:

- Realm Hop does not work.
- Before you start the daylies, first run to the place where the lieutenant is to see which one is active (not attackable without quest).
- It is best to quest all daylies once until you get the last quest Strike at the Heart.
- After that, kill the lieutenant once, then cancel the quest and accept it again. Now wait for the day when the next needed lieutenant is there and kill him directly (without having to do daylies again.).
- For the next day you have to make daylies again, that means you can kill 2x lieutenants per quest.
